Il materiale è ideale per oggetti destinati ai consumatori come orologi, gioielli, montature per occhiali, decorazioni ed elementi funzionali nell'elettronica di consumo.
Le doti di resistenza alla corrosione lo rendono adatto agli impianti industriali e al settore Automotive e Aerospace come materiale entry level per l'uso della tecnologia SLS.
Le parti in acciaio inox AISI316L possono essere lavorate tramite impianti CNC, sottoposte a micropallinatura e lucidati
